Nebulae

A nebula is a giant cloud of dust and gas in space. Some nebulae come from gas and dust expelled by the explosion of a dying star, like supernovas. Other nebulae are regions where new stars begin to form.

Nebulae exist in interstellar space. The closest known nebula to Earth is called the Helix Nebula (which we will talk about later because it is located in Aquarius).
