Exoplanets

An exoplanet is a planet that orbits another star different of the Sun, not belonging to our Solar System. Most of the known extrasolar planets are gas giants equal to or more massive than the planet Jupiter, with orbits very close to their star and very short orbital periods, also known as hot Jupiters.

Nowadays, one of the most important points of the investigation is to find out which ones can be habitable.
